Mathias Manner's journey as a candidate for Franklin County Probate Court Judge began long before he became an attorney. Born and raised in rural Ohio, he grew up in poverty and saw firsthand how difficult it can be for families to access legal help. Those early experiences shaped his lifelong commitment to fairness, compassion, and expanding access to justice.

Mathias Manner's journey as a candidate for Franklin County Probate Court Judge began long before he became an attorney. Born and raised in rural Ohio, he grew up in poverty and saw firsthand how difficult it can be for families to access legal help. Those early experiences shaped his lifelong commitment to fairness, compassion, and expanding access to justice.

In addition to owning his own firm, Mathias has spent his career expanding access to justice:

  • Founding two free legal clinics with community partners,

  • Providing pro bono work for domestic violence survivors in honor of his late sister, and

  • Supporting immigrant communities through reduced or free services for victims and educational advocacy efforts to help them understand their legal rights.

Having practiced in all 88 Probate Courts across the state for nearly 20 years, Mathias has made it his mission to ensure no one faces the legal system alone.

With a career defined by integrity, community service, and a genuine belief that every citizen deserves fair and accessible justice, Mathias Manner is ready to bring a fresh perspective to the Franklin County Probate Court.

Education

Mathias received a bachelor's degree in political science and government from The College of Wooster and a J.D. from Capital University Law School.

Community Action

  • Established the Elsa Santoyo Cruz Memorial Scholarship in collaboration with the League of United Latin American Citizens.

  • Participated in the Victim Services program “Soy Latina” in collaboration with the Ohio Hispanic Coalition to assist clients with reduced-rate and pro bono services.

  • Participated in “Know Your Rights” presentations for immigrants in collaboration with ACLU.

  • Volunteered at every Legal Aid of Southeast and Central Ohio legal clinic for clients below the poverty level in Franklin County.
